Types of Classes
Hunter Education Traditional ($10)
The basic purpose of a Hunter Education class is to teach hunters to be safe, legal and responsible. Topics covered include wildlife management, wildlife identification, ethics, laws and regulations, and firearms safety and handling. While Hunter Education classes enable safer hunting, they also help hunters to be more successful in their hunts – and emphasize ethical hunting behavior.
Traditional Class Details
In person, classroom setting, 10 hours minimum class time (split into 2 days), written test, live fire exercise.
In-classroom Conclusion Course Details:
4-6 hours of class time, hands-on exercises, Colorado laws and regulations, written test, live fire exercise, and cost of $10 (cost for Grand Junction Classes).

Note: Online course certificate of completion required to participate in conclusion class.
Bowhunter Ed Conclusion Course Details:
6 hours of class time, hands-on exercises, blood trailing and tree stand safety, written test, live fire exercise, and cost of $10 (cost for Grand Junction Classes).

Note: Online course certificate of completion required to participate in conclusion class. Be sure to pre-register for a concluding class before beginning the online course.
Hunter Field Engagement Course Traditional ($20)
The goal of the HFEC is to challenge students to utilize their learned skills from Hunter Ed in a field setting. From having a foundation of firearms safety, to being able to quickly and effectively engage Game from a variety of positions.
